Depending on the flooring in your home and its condition, you should also do minor repairs on that part of the house. Replacing and repairing floor coverings can be inexpensive when choosing the right material. Even slightly more expensive flooring may be worth it if you have long-pile carpeting or something that no buyer wants.
At present, most buyers prefer hardwood floors. Therefore, if you have this type of flooring under your carpet, a relatively economical removal of the carpet can greatly enhance the appeal of your home. If you have ceramic flooring, replace or clean the grout and replace any cracked or chipped tile. As a general rule, do not bother installing a ceramic floor in a house before showing it because it is expensive. The only exception would be a bathroom or entry that previously had carpet.
